THE current proposals to re-arrange schools in the town, while having considerable disadvantages, raise knock-on situations with the development of vacated sites. Notably at Grays School in Western Road.
A change of use of that land etc., must call into consideration that when the change from Dr A Brook’s house to allow the school to be built a stipulation was made that any future of development could only be ‘for the use of children’.
I have a memory of that, and there certainly must be the recording of that in the archives of that development. It would certainly be of great interest to know of others with that memory.
