Remembering war heroes of Hailsham

FOLLOWING the successful publication last November of my book “The Heroes of Hailsham” and the continued interest in war memorials, I am extending the area of my work.

I am researching the lives and history of the men of Hellingly who died in both the First and Second World Wars and whose names are commemorated on Hellingly’s War Memorial. Like many others, Hellingly War Memorial only records the names of those men and nothing else. It is important that the supreme sacrifices made by these men and this significant area of local history is not lost, but made available for future generations.

I am particularly seeking photographs of those who died but would ask anyone whose knows any details of the lives of those brave men to contact me.

Please forward me outline details in the first instance either by phone, e-mail or post.
