On Saturday, I attended the Armed Forces Day in Seaford to pay tribute to the service men and women, both past and present, who served their country.
It was a very emotional start to the day with veterans marching alongside local cadets.
Knowing that some of those veterans in the parade had actually fought during the D-Day landings gave an extra sense of occasion to the event.
All credit goes to Seaford Town Council and the Seahaven Branch of The Royal Society of St George who organised the whole day. It was a fantastic tribute to those who have served their country. As someone whose partner served in the Army I know how tough life in the armed forces can be, not just for those who serve but for their families and loved ones too. Having the support of the community makes a huge difference and Seaford certainly showed their support on Saturday. Well done to all involved.
