Much has been voiced about the temporary occupation of the site of the former St Anne’s School on Rotten Row in Lewes.
I wonder how many people adding their opinions to the debate about what is presently happening there have actually visited the site.
I, myself, have stayed there (albeit only for one night) and found the camp to be far less controversial than may be supposed.
No alcohol is permitted (though plenty of tea is drunk!), goods are grown for consumption - indeed the night I took cover dinner included Kale grown in situ. The buildings are being prevented from enduring further vandalism and the people staying there simply want to save the site.
So, I urge those with an interest in Lewes, to visit, talk to those staying there and maybe even take some (loose leaf) tea.
