Thanks for the support over council by election

I WOULD like to sincerely thank the people of North Ward Polegate who voted for me and Don Broadbent in the by election for Polegate Town Council last Thursday.

We were both delighted to have been successful in winning the two seats on the council rendered vacant by the passing of Cllr Roy Martin and Cllr Gerald Carter.

We will do all we can to fulfil our promise to work hard for local residents and for the benefit of Polegate. The gain of one extra council seat demonstrates that Polegate Liberal Democrats are a growing force dedicated to dealing with local issues by local people.

Don and I look forward to team working with our fellow councillor, Christina Berry and with other members to improve our town.

Without the support of our friends, families and colleagues along with a good number of leaflet deliverers, telephone canvassers and many others who willingly helped us, the campaign would not have been such a success – our thanks to them all.

We owe a debt of gratitude to the returning officer and all those of his staff who manned the polling station for many hours on Thursday and conducted the counting of the votes with good humour, efficiency and accuracy.

Hugh W Parker, Town Councillor – North Ward Polegate
