Unsightly shop front - would you prefer MP not to care?

I’m not quite clear why Matt Kent feels the MP for Lewes should not take action over the unsightly frontage of Clinton Cards former shop in Lewes’ Precinct.

Would he prefer a local MP who cares little about the area he represents?

Being an MP and Minister doesn’t deprive Norman Baker of the right to have his say about the town in which he lives.

He has taken the trouble to meet the chief executive of Lewes District Council and to write to Clinton Cards’ administrators making a constructive suggestion for improving the look of the High Street.

That doesn’t undermine or undervalue the efforts of councillors who have already become involved. Indeed, it supports them and I’m sure most of them welcome his assistance.
