What a very sad and apathetic response from Sussex voters – repeated throughout the UK. The current police force have allowed corruption into their doors for some years past, and the time was ripe to elect an experienced individual – trusted by the public – to rectify their poor record.
The success of the Conservative candidate here was not surprising, considering the royal blue flavour in our county, but perhaps the runner-up status of the Labour candidate should be noted – achieved over both LibDem and UKIP representatives.
Let’s hope our lady commissioner will prove to be both able and successful in reducing both crime and the poor police record. Otherwise, voters who took the trouble to visit the polling station will have achieved nothing, and we so desperately need to change current police behaviour!
