Warm socks are still needed

My annual Sock Appeal for the local Christmas charity Surviving Christmas has got off to a very good start with the collecting boxes beginning to fill up steadily.

I am asking people to give a pair or two of warm socks which I take to the Surviving Christmas base on Christmas Day for distribution to those in need.

This year the charity will be providing seasonal hospitality, a warm welcome and good festive cheer on Christmas Day and Boxing Day at the Salvation Army Hall in St Andrew’s Square.

This is th 20th year of the Sock Appeal and we want to make it a really bumper one. Warm socks can be such a blessing for those living on the streets or in cold conditions.

There are collecting points (Sox Boxes) where donated socks can be left at the Imagen Gallery, Holy Trinity Church and JD’s Bar/Bistro all of which are in Claremont. Please be generous.
