Every year we get a few gifts left very generously to Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) after a supporter or animal lover sadly passes away.
Your Will is an important way of looking after the future of your loved ones.
After you’ve taken care of your family and friends, you may also wish to leave a gift in your Will to a local charity.
It’s a little known fact that most charities wouldn’t survive without gifts in Wills.
By remembering your favourite charities in this way, you’re ensuring that their good work lives on.
These gifts make a huge difference to the work we undertake at WRAS, allowing us to expand and improve the service we can offer.
Recently WRAS missed out on a legacy, unfortunately, because the Will had not been signed and witnessed; we have also had gifts meant for WRAS being passed to the wrong charity too.
As a result we wanted to highlight this issue. We are asking supporters to check and ensure that if you are thinking of leaving a gift to your family, friends or a charity when you are gone, please check to make sure that your Will is in order and valid.
If you have not written a Will and would like to leave a gift to WRAS when you’re gone please ensure you include our name “East Sussex WRAS” our Registered Charity Number 1108880 and our registered address 8 Stour Close, Stone Cross, Pevensey, BN24 5QU, as this will ensure your gift goes where you intended it to.
Every little helps so whether it is a collection at a funeral instead of flowers or a gift from your estate it all helps and we feel very honoured and proud to be the recipients of these gifts.
