Youth ballet - unique experience

EYB is coming to the Kings Theatre, Southsea, in October with their production of Nutcracker - and they are looking for youngsters to take part.

Company manager Ben Garner said: “EYB is a youth ballet company with a difference. It is the only UK touring ballet company to nurture and showcase the talents of over 100 selected young  local dancers in its extensive classical repertoire.

“EYB has eight superb international professional principal artists who dance the leading roles in the full-length ballets and teach the young people.

“English Youth Ballet’s philosophy is to develop artistry in the young people through performance experience. Students who take part find a rapid improvement in their dance technique and strength. There are now former EYB students in some of the world’s top ballet companies including the Royal Ballet.

“The young people benefit from an increase in self-confidence and they learn about the importance of team work. EYB nurtures a sense of pride in the youngsters from working together to create a production of the highest quality.”
