The Hastings Youth Council (HYC) The Hastings meets regularly to provide a voice for young people. It works on youth-related projects and advises Hastings District Council on issues that affect our district’s youth. T HYC’s visit to Pestalozzi Village last Thursday (June 9) was to learn more about the charity and the young people who benefit from a two year scholarship programme. Three Pestalozzi students, Bigyan, Marvin and Marshall, are members of the Youth Council and they took the opportunity to show the rest the HYC around where they live and introduce them to the village. One Youth Councillor said they felt proud of what the Pestalozzi project did and how young people can benefit from the quality education that Sussex Coast College provides.

Emile Tambeh Community Cohesion and Support Officer from Hastings Borough Council thanked Pestalozzi for the ‘very warm welcome we received’, adding: “What amazing grounds you have at Pestalozzi.

“It was great to hear from the students what Pestalozzi is all about and their personal journeys getting there. I have no doubt this visit will have had a positive effect on the young people of Hastings youth councils life’s and I’m sure they will spread the good work that you do and how people should fundraise to help Pestalozzi.”
