Zachary Merton Hospital gets new televisions

THE League of Friends at Zachary Merton Hospital, Rustington, has signed a contract to provide 19 new digital televisions and stands for the patients, using money from fund-raising and a bequest.

Linda Beard, chairman of the friends, criticised “unfair” regulations forcing the league to pay £1,629 in VAT on the sets.

The league holds its annual meeting on Wednesday (April 18) in the hospital dining room, at 3pm, with historian Harry Clark, chairman of the Rustington Heritage Association, as the guest speaker.

Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
