Zoo set to unveil water attraction

Drusillas Park’s fun new attraction will provide a fountain of fun for all ages when it opens next Easter.

Following a £300,000 investment, the new attraction promises to be the ultimate splash pad experience and will be known as ‘Get Wet!’.

The colourful two hundred square metre installation will replace Monkey Kingdom at the park and include a thrilling collection of water jets, ground geysers, twirling streams and spiralling sprays.

Visitors can enjoy a taste of the tropics, as they dodge the flower fountains, weave past the wavy palm trees and become completely immersed in the fun.

Managing director, Laurence Smith said: “The new attraction will provide children with some state-of-the-art sensory water play but above all it will be a great deal of fun.

“There will be a quieter area for our youngest visitors and a grassed area, with benching where adults can relax too. It has been designed and created by water play experts, Ustigate who are the UK’s largest splash pad installation company. Work is already underway and the new area should open next spring. We are very excited about the final result.”

The park is also getting ready for its Halloween celebrations, which runs from October 24 to November 1.

Visitors will be able to venture through the creepy cobwebbed corridors of Haunted Heights into the terror-tory of sin sisters, Hocus and Pocus as they play hide and shriek with the unsuspecting public. The derelict castle towers high above the skyline of Drusillas but deep at the heart of Haunted Heights lies a ghostly secret. Thrill seekers are invited to knock on the trap door and discover the spook-tacular surprise within.

On Wednesday, October 28 crime solving Scooby-Doo will also be at the park to meet budding detectives at various intervals throughout the day.
