Zookeepers from Drusillas raise money for Chestnut Tree House Hospice

THREE ZOO KEEPERS from Drusillas Zoo have handed over a cheque for £488.50 to Chestnut Tree House, following a sponsored bike ride earlier this year.

Chestnut Tree House is Drusillas’s charity of the year and it is the only hospice for young people in Sussex.

Jodie Dryden, Claudia Caballero-Pope and Helena Faunch collected the money after completing a 50 mile route starting at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, Kent. All inexperienced riders, the girls cycled west along the A259 through Rye, Hastings and Bexhill before returning.

Louise Collins, Chestnut community fundraiser, said: “We’re so grateful to the girls for getting on their bikes.”
