Nick’s exhibits reflect various aspects of his working practice including mixed media, canvasses, watercoloured etching prints and watercolours.

Nick says his work comes from the heart, and his creativity is essentially a coping method for dealing with depression and mental health issues and is a strategy for releasing endorphins. “The creative aspect of my practice is the important part,” he said. “Exhibiting and selling really do come on a back burner. Most of the money I get from my own sales tends to go towards charities of my choice. Most of the money I get from my own sales tends to go towards charities of my choice. This year I have raised money through solo shows, group shows, and my own DVD and Book sales at Southwater Area Community Centre, for the charities MIND, Hastings for Refugees, a cancer charity for children based in Tunbridge Wells and the Seaview centre.”

Acorn Arts is a member of Zoom Arts collective, and Sandra Martindale from Acorn Arts said: “Creativity is an essential part of our lives. No one is truly happy unless they are creating somewhere in their lives, it’s a vital part of problem solving, it underpins all success in life, and it’s outright fun.”
