Disneyland Paris will reopen to customers in less than a month, it has been announced.

The theme park closed its doors on 15 March 2020, in the midst of the increasingly serious coronavirus pandemic. Now, it has revealed that it will reopen again on Wednesday 15 July, exactly four months later.

The company's website says, "We are ready to bring you unforgettable and magical moments once again at Disneyland Paris, with enhanced health and safety measures for your peace of mind."

However, Disney has stressed that this is a "phased reopening", suggesting that things will not go back to normal overnight at the resort.

Will my Disney experience be different?

According to information on the Disneyland Paris website, Disneyland Paris parks, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel, and Disney Village will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures in place. These will be in line with guidance from the French government and local health authorities.

The number of people visiting the parks will be limited, and both physical distancing and enhanced cleaning measures will be in place.

Anyone aged 11 years or older must wear a mask or face covering, and this includes Disney staff and visiting contractors.

These rules may change over time, as the resort adjusts its rules in accordance with government guidelines.

How to get tickets

You can still purchase tickets for the resort in the normal way, via the website.

However, if you have a non-dated ticket (Mini, Magic, or Super Magic Ticket) or an Annual Pass, you are advised to register on the Disneyland Paris website, in order to make sure that there is availability to visit the theme park on your desired date.

What if I have already booked my visit?

If you are already booked to stay in a Disney Hotel or Disney Nature Resort as part of a 'Ticket + Hotel' package, or via a Partner Hotel package bought from Disneyland Paris, or if you have a ticket for a specific date, you do not need to register on the website. Your entry to the park is guaranteed.

Can I change my booking?

Disney is currently offering flexible booking, allowing customers to change or cancel their booking and receive a full refund any time up to seven days before the intended arrival date.

However, the company's terms and conditions state that this deal excludes insurance and transport fees, if applicable.

If you have booked a trip to Disneyland Paris that is due to take place before 15 July, you have two options.

"You can choose to receive a refund for the amount already paid for your holiday, or to receive a voucher for the same amount," advises the Disneyland Paris website.

"If you choose the voucher, you can use it within 18 months to book any future holiday at Disneyland Paris (subject to the then applicable conditions), or to rebook a similar holiday to your original booking at the same price and under the same conditions."

If you bought your holiday directly with Disneyland Paris, you can fill out an electronic form to help process your request.

If you organised your trip through a third party provider, you should contact them directly to discuss your options.

Am I allowed to travel to France from the UK?

Currently, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is advising UK residents against all but essential international travel.

The current 14 day quarantine rule affects anyone arriving to the UK by plane, train or ferry, even residents returning from other countries.
