Leaving Netflix today and May: Things to watch before they go

Everything has an expiry date - and your favourite films and TV shows on Netflix are no exception.

The popular streaming platform sheds a ton of movies and TV series every month because of the way that licensing deals work.

There are no fewer than 55 titles expiring today (30 April), and heaps more throughout the month of May - so you better grab the remote now if you don't want to miss them.

Among the April 30 departures are hit movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Bridget Jones’ Diary, The Duchess and The Virgin Suicides.

Documentary lovers will have to be quick to catch Requiem for the American Dream, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin' Down a Dream, and Gascoigne, the feature length documentary on the life of Gazza.

If you've got kids, Chicken Run gets its final run, while Horrid Henry is off air.

As May approaches, it's time to say goodbye to a fair few more.

Disney Channel Original Movies will be get the biggest clear out out of any genre.

Films like High School Musical 1 and 2, Cow Belles Camp Rock and The Cheetah Girls 1, 2 and 3 will need to be watched elsewhere.

That said, High School Musical fans will get High School Musical 3: Senior Year on May 1 to soften the blow.

Film fans, meanwhile, will lose hugely popular films like Bridget Jones's Diary, Goodfellas, Charlotte's Web and Ocean's 11,
