Comedy fans are in for a treat as Sky launches its own channel of comedy shows from the US.
With shows from networks such as HBO, NBC and Showtime, the channel will boast old favourites as well as fresh content.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What shows will be on Sky Comedy?
Miracle Workers, Mrs Fletcher and The Righteous Gemstones are just some of the brand new acclaimed comedies coming to the channel.
Starring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi, Miracle Workers is the channel’s major launch show, and airs on 27 January.
It follows Craig (Daniel Radcliffe) and Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan), low-level angels who are trying to convince their jaded boss, God (Steve Buscemi), that the world is not about to end.
Craig and Eliza are responsible for handling all of humanity's prayers and must persuade God to help them save humankind and answer the most impossible prayer yet - to help two humans, Laura and Sam, fall in love.
The seven-episode limited series is based on Simon Rich’s book, ‘What’s in God’s Name’ and makes the case that humans are worth saving, while turning our perceptions of heaven upside down.
Mrs Fletcher first aired in the US in October 2019, and centres around a divorced woman who decides to jumpstart her love life by adopting a new persona, discovering new and unexpected possibilities along the way. It is expected to air on Sky Comedy in February 2020.
The Righteous Gemstones, starting on 5 February, is a US comedy television series created by Danny McBride, which first premiered in August 2019, on HBO.
This series follows a famous, but dysfunctional family of televangelists, starring Danny McBride as Jesse Gemstone, alongside John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam DeVine, Tony Cavalero, Cassidy Freeman and Skyler Gisondo.
From January 28 Sky Comedy will also show all new series of returning hit US shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, following the misadventures of famous TV writer and producer Larry David, and Ballers, starring Dwayne Johnson as former NFL player Spencer Strasmore who finds a new career as a financial manager.
And if you’re a fan of US talk shows, you’ll be able to find programmes like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (from 1 February), Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and The Late Late Show (from 28 January).
There will also be numerous box sets airing on the channel, including Girls, Sex and The City, and The Mindy Project.
And for Fleabag fans, Run, a new comedy series written by Vicky Jones and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be coming to Sky Comedy.
This show will follow Ruby, a woman living an ordinary life, whose world suddenly gets turned upside down after she receives a text which invites her to follow through on a pact she made when she was younger.
Merritt Wever will star as Ruby, while Domhnall Gleeson will star as Billy Johnson, a successful life guru who comes from a wealthy Irish family.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge will also appear in the show in the recurring role of Flick. A launch date for the series is to be confirmed.
