Age no barrier for snooker ace Jimmy

JIMMY Robertson made local snooker history last week when he became the youngest player at 15 to win the Eastbourne Open Championship.

Robertson, who turned 16 this week, faced Q-Ball club mate and snooker professional Matt Bray who was aiming to win the title for a record sixth time.

But in front of a large audience it was the Bexhill player who emerged victorious with an awesome potting display.

Robertson, who plays out of O'Sullivans, lost the first frame on the colours but recovered with a 14-red total clearance of 127.

Further breaks of 39, 63 and 81 put him ahead 3-1 before Bray pulled one back but Robertson took the sixth frame and the title.
