Aimigayle follows on debut with fine win

FOLLOWING on from a promising chasing debut at Fontwell Park recently, Sussex-trained Aimigayle put in a fine performance at Kempton Park last week to win the The Joslin Rowe Beginners' Steeple Chase.

Trained on the old Lewes racecourse by Suzy Smith, the five-year-old mare had finished second in her first race over bigger obstacles at Fontwell earlier in the month.

Her handler said that day that the ground was too soft for her and she would prefer a galloping track rather than the tight figure-of-eight course.

Conditions were ideal at Kempton and she plugged on to be an easy four-length 7-2 winner, easily beating the second favourite, with the Nicky Henderson-trained favourite well down the field.
