Aldingbourne retain trophy in keen contest

THE annual Chanctonbury Stoolball League tournament was held at Steyning recently, when Aldingbourne won the event for the second year running.

Nine teams are in the league but only seven took part in the tournament, with Roffey and Barnes Green unable to attend.

Aldingbourne, Aldrington, Amberly, Burpham, East Preston, Pulborough and Steyning competed in the round robin event.

Aldingbourne, Aldrington and Steyning each won six of their seven games and the final result was decided on run difference, with Aldingbourne declared winners, with Aldrington second and Steyning third.
