All aboard for annual open day

THE Sussex Yacht Club in Shoreham is having its annual open day on Saturday from 10am to 5pm at the Shoreham clubhouse as part of the Adur Festival.

The Shoreham lifeboat will be alongside and visitors to the free event will be able to go aboard and talk to the crew. In addition, the local fishery protection vessel Watchful is also expected and will be open to visitors. Some of the larger boats belonging to club members will be on the jetty and will be available for members of the public to see.

Visitors will also be able to meet members representing the various activities that the club supports, such as yacht racing, diving, dinghy sailing and the work the club does to promote sailing for disabled people.
