Alpine championships are snow problem for Yasmin

Gutsy Chichester skier Yasmin Cooper managed to achieve first place and end day two of the English Alpine Championships on a high.

The Italy-based championships, hosted by Snowsport England, have previously seen racers such as Vancouver 2010 Olympians Chemmy Alcott and Dave Ryding take part.

British Ski Academy and Hemel Ski Race Club member Cooper, 13, produced a fast first run of 33.88 seconds followed by a respectable second run of 35.24, attaining first place against many international snow-based competitors.
