The evening will include slides of very large pike and talks on how to catch them. The doors open at 7.30pm and admission is 3 on the door.

The biggest carp from Wylands Angling Centre caught recently came from Kell Lake where Steve Gurka of Hastings fished to catch a mirror of 20lb 14oz and Edward Tyler hooked into a common of 21lb 4oz. Another good catch was made by Paul Chatfield of Battle who fished a boilie for 57 carp to 16lb 2oz, while Andy Jeavons of Lewes caught 10 carp from New Specimen Lake to 18lb 8oz.

Pippingford Park continues to fish well for carp with fish being taken to mid double figures from at least three of the lakes. Chub were caught to 3lb 8oz from the army lake along with roach to just over the 1lb and perch to 2lb 12oz. The pike are also showing well on the middle lakes, but so far only jacks to 7lb have been caught.

At Swanborough Lakes most of the action with carp was during the hours of darkness with fish regularly caught in the 18lb to 20lb class mostly on soft boilies. Carp 10lb to 12lb were caught in day light and there was also a ghost carp weighing 13lb 8oz. On the tench lake plenty of fish in the 3lb to 5lb weight were caught on sweetcorn and catches have included perch to 2lb 8oz.

St Ives Farm is producing carp to mid doubles on meat with one angler actually fishing with steak. Floating baits such as crust and dog biscuits are also working and plenty of bream to over 3lb were taken on pole fished maggots along with perch approaching 2lb.

Halibut pellets was the successful bait fished by Dave Ford of Hove who landed common carp of 14lb 8oz, 13lb 1oz and 2 of 11lb 8oz during a night session. Plenty of small roach and carp were also caught on float fished maggots and sweetcorn.

Big bream made up the weights during the Isfield and District Angling Club competition at the Mill Pond Horsted Keynes. 1st Mike Green 19lb 10oz, 2nd Alan Phillips 18lb 8oz, 3rd Steve Hughes 10lb 4oz.

Southdown Angling Association fished the first round of the Cuckmere Cup on the River Cuckmere at Shermans Bridge when five tench were among the weights. 1st Roger May 7lb 11oz, 2nd Peter Easton 5lb 6oz 8dr, 3rd Bob Nesbit 3lb 10oz 8dr, 4th Brian Nesbit 3lb 8oz 8dr.
