The club first received the status in 2009 but the accreditation has been reviewed and renewed for a further four years.

Angmering president Peter King said: “Achieving Tennis Clubmark status verifies that the LTA endorses and supports the tennis programmes the club delivers on court for all ages and abilities.

“It also confirms that the policies and procedures that the club has put in place off-court, to safeguard members and those who visit the club, have been approved and serve to ensure that the club is managed safely and effectively in line with best practice.”

The main benefits of Clubmark show that the club encourage and attract young tennis members and give parents the confidence that they have chosen a club whose practices and standards have been verified by an external body.

It provides opportunities for anyone to play, competitively and socially, at a standard at which they can compete. Members also have access to qualified and enthusiastic coaching staff, in order to reach the highest standards they set themselves.

Angmering offer six sessions a week of social tennis, hosted by a club professional, with balls provided. Social, open and club tournaments take place throughout the year and for members who wish to play more competitive tennis, there are adult, junior and veterans’ teams.

The club has seven courts, with three different surfaces, together with a small court for younger players and use of the floodlights is free.

The club welcomes anyone who wishes to take up tennis to get in touch via the website, www.angmeringtennis.co.uk
