Anyone for tennis? Worthing's the place to head

A tennis fun day and court reopening takes place at Field Place, Worthing, this Saturday.

There are bookable sessions between 10am and 3pm, free and open to all. Fully refurbished tennis courts at Field Place Manor House are being officially opened and people are invited to join in the fun.

Following investment from Worthing Borough Council, the brand-new all-weather surface is now ready to play on.

You can join Head Tennis Coach Colin Piper, who will be leading a number of fun sessions, with a very special guest on the day, former professional tennis player, Martin Lee.

Lee, a former Davis Cup star and British number three, was junior number one and won the Wimbledon Junior Doubles title in 1995.

The fun day will consist of bookable sessions and each session will have restricted numbers to maintain social distancing guidelines – sessions will include fun activities such as:

Mini Tennis – on our brand new marked out mini tennis courts

Social play – turn up and play (book your session time in advance)

Coaching – Head Coach Colin Piper & his team will instantly help you with your game

Fastest Serve – can you serve like the pros ?

Diving Volley – get your picture taken while diving onto a crash mat

Session times are as follows:

10:00-11:00 – free play

11:00-12:00 – free play

12:00-13:00 – Opening ceremony

13:00-14:00 – free play

14:00-15:00 – free play

Make sure to book your space via our app or online – you will find the sessions under classes at Field Place Manor House.
