Peter Etheridge, the chairman, made a presentation for their loyalty to a fishing club which is one of the oldest in Chichester Harbour.

“We are extremely fortunate to have had John and Jean work so tirelessly over the years and they will be a hard double act to replace”, he said.

The award ceremony and presentation took place at the Four Chesnuts pub in Chichester and was attended more by than half the current membership.

In addition to the presentation of the cups, the evening involved a skittles competition, a raffle, a quiz and other competitions.

Many cups were won by the junior members of the club, in particular Josh and Connor Boe, but the major trophy winner was Allan Blamire, winning four of the available 20 cups.

The club are based at Dell Quay, where they have their own clubhouse. They run sea-fishing competitions during the year inside the harbour on the foreshore, on beaches and in the open sea.
