Archie pegs back his old team-mates

Macabie was claiming Wickers' leveller on 70 minutes although, if it was down to the Dubious Goals Panel in the Premier League, it would probably be a Dave Ayre own goal.

From a quickly-taken Adam Steele corner, Dominic Shepherd crossed and Macabie chested the ball goalwards from three yards. Oak keeper Ashley Walker's save rebounded onto Ayre and into his own goal, although Wickers felt Macabie's original touch crossed the line and he was celebrating his first goal for Southwick.

It extended Southwick's unbeaten run to seven league games, their best since late 2004 when, then under Mark Burt and Lee Cox, they enjoyed an eight-game unbeaten streak.

Oak dominated proceedings in the opening period and could have been more than a goal ahead at half-time.

After link-up play between Clive Jackson and Scott Carden, Oak's top-scorer, Paul Eaton, should have opened the scoring on six minutes. He was one-on-one with veteran Southwick keeper Keith Cheal but his effort from eight yards hit Cheal's legs and went out for a corner.
