Arun gymnasts win medals galore at Chichester

ELEVEN Arun Gymnastics Club members competed at the Chichester four-piece competition and were rewarded with a superb total of 22 medals.

The medals were awarded for position on each piece so there was an opportunity for the gymnasts to pick up as many as four medals in each age group and category.

Arun’s best performer was Isabel Foster, competing at intermediate age 11. Her fantastic efforts earned her three gold medals for her brilliant performances on vault, beam and bars and a silver for her lovely floor routine.

Four Arun gymnasts scooped three medals each. Brooklyn Smith, competing at novice age 11, won two golds for her excellent work on vault and beam and picked up the bronze on floor; Isabella Woodward competing at novice over-13 also picked up two gold medals for her superb efforts on beam and vault and a bronze on floor.

Rosie Budge competing at advanced age ten-and-under picked up silver medals for her vault and beam and a bronze on floor, whilst Grace Callaway competing at novice age eight earned a silver on the beam and picked up bronze medals on floor and bars.

Two Arun gymnasts came home with two medals each. Eva Rennie, at intermediate age 11, earned a silver medal for her bars work and took the bronze on floor while Ruby Hammond earned bronze for both floor and vault in intermediate age ten.

Elysia Natale, at novice age 12, won a bronze for her floor and Lucy Woolmer, at advanced age 11, picked up a bronze for her vault.

The gymnast’s coaches, Carolyn Millar and Heather Wallace, were extremely proud of all the girls’ efforts and pleased to see all their hard work in training is paying off.
