ARUNDEL SHOW THEIR MUSCLES

WHAT A strange start to the season Arundel have had. They lose at Steyning in the John O'Hara Cup, but then produce top quality results against teams from the upper half of Division One.

Such was the case on Saturday when, in what Mullets' boss Mike Rowland described as a definite game of two halves, they eventually beat a strong Shoreham side at Mill Road.

Having been under pressure for the entire first 45 minutes, their solid defence cracked just once when captain Barry Pidgeon brought down Chris Dicker. From the penalty Dicker rolled his effort past the post and, by his own admission, Rowland agreed his side were lucky to be level at the break.

More details in Littlehampton Gazette on October 3.
