Athletics girls are Mid Sussex champions

Burgess Hill School for Girls athletics warm up

The Junior Team comprised of Years 8 & 9 girls and the Intermediate Team comprised of Years 10 and 11 girls competed well in their specialised events. Points were based on the competitor’s position and the team combined was successful in finishing in first place with 81 points to become the Mid Sussex Champions.

Special congratulations to the following girls who finished first or second in their respective event and now go onto represent Mid Sussex at the Sussex Schools Championships in mid June at K2, Crawley - Rachel Gregg (High Jump), Tilly Loughton (Javelin), Natasha Hoile (Long Jump), Ella Filskow (Shot Putt), Erin Bateman (800m), Natasha Corkerton-Purchas (Pole Vault), Isabella Little (Discus) and Ella Burton (300m)

Miss Suzy Clapp, Head of PE said, “The girls clocked some very fast times on the track and also gained some excellent distances in the field events. An excellent team effort!”
