Badminton greats coming to town

Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms will make an eagerly-anticipated return to town tomorrow (Sunday).

The Torvill and Dean of British badminton will deliver a Badminton Masterclass to Hastings Junior Badminton Club at Helenswood Sports Centre.

Robertson and Emms, 2004 Olympic mixed doubles silver medallists, will cover the four main components needed to be a top badminton player, namely mental, technical, tactical and physical.

The under-11s will be first to receive the benefit of their top level wisdom from 9.30-11.30am, followed by the under-13s from 12noon-2pm, and under-17s and adults from 3-5pm.

Robertson and Emms won gold at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games in 2006, and 2004 European Championships. They previously delivered a Badminton Masterclass in the town during August 2009.
