Baker brings home the bread in the Bognor Prom 10k

James Baker lived up to his reputation as the favourite as more than 1,400 runners completed a successful Bognor Prom 10k.

The seafront race was blessed by fine weather and some fine performances, with Chichester ace Baker coming home in 32min 18sec - a full 45 seconds ahead of runner-up James Bellward.

Third was Robin Ward of Portsmouth Joggers (34.17) while Chichester Runners also boasted the fourth finisher, Anthony Roddis (34.44).

First woman home was Caroline Hoyte of Arena 80, who was eighth overall with a time of 36.07.

Danny Mahoney was the first home from the Bognor club Tone Zone. He was 44th in 40.14.

In all there were 1,463 finishers - plus hundreds more in the races for youngsters which preceded the big race.
