Baker led the Aldershot, Farnham & District team to under-20 women’s gold at the National Cross-Country Relays in Mansfield.

This was a welcome result for the 18-year-old ex-Bexhill and Rye College student who, after winning the Home Countries International Cross-Country last March, suffered a series of injuries which blighted her summer track season.

Baker is currently studying at Royal Holloway University of London where she is supported by a sports scholarship which enables her to train with a group of top international women at Aldershot.

She is now firmly focused on the trials for the Great Britain team for the European Championships at the end of the month.
