Bans blow for Rooks

Lewes manager Steve King is desperate for three points from Saturday's visit from bottom-of-the-table Bedford Town but must again go into a match with a sadly depleted squad.

Steve Robinson and new signing Craig O'Connor are suspended while Lewis Hamilton (thigh) and Jamie Cade (hip) are missing and Paul Kennett (groin) is rated only 50-50.

In addition Lee Farrell, who wound up his loan spell at Horsham with two goals against Carshalton on Tuesday evening, finished with a suspected groin problem.

King said: 'It's a nightmare, I've never known anything like it since I've been manager here. Kenno has only played nine games for us this season and Paul Booth and Jean-Michel Sigere have only appeared in five games together.'

Bedford have drawn two and lost ten of their last 12 league games. However, news that Bedford manager Nicky Platnauer has resigned, with assistant Dave Randall taking charge, may not be good news for the Rooks. Teams often have a boost in form in these circumstances.
