Barton's down three stone but has seven to go . . .

CRICKETER Danny Barton is making excellent progress in his battle to lose 10 stone this season. Starting the campaign a month ago at 25 stone, Barton has lost almost three stone thanks to his training regime of five sessions a week.

He said: "I was just above 22 stone at the weigh-in which was not as good as it could have been. That's probably because of the bank holiday weekend when I went away but this weigh-in was my first let-down.

"I'm a little bit behind my target but I'll get back on track with a bit more hard work.

"I'm still 100 per cent determined to do this. I've put so much work into it and am almost past the hard bit. I'll be disgusted with myself if I let myself down."
