BARKERS (Tarring) Worthing Thunder secured the two expected wins this weekend against teams from the lower reaches of EBL Division 1, but survived a major scare before defeating Coventry at home on Sunday evening.

The weekend started with a 100-79 victory from a trip to King's Lynn to play the College of West Anglia Fury, who are yet to win a league game this season.

Looking to impose themselves on the game, Thunder started strongly, and were soon 12-4 up when returning from illness captain James Brame connected with his second three pointer in the opening three minutes.

The lead continued to build through the first quarter until Ryan Marrast's three, his first but Thunder's fifth of the opening period, made the score 31-15.
