Amazons started strongly to take an early 6-0 lead before Crawley could get any points on the board.

Tough defence and strong rebounding by Amazons newcomer Michelle Denyer for the rest of the quarter meant Amazons led 20-11 at the first-quarter break. Five of those points were scored by Denyer in her first game.

Strong shooting by the Cougars led to them taking the first points of the second quarter, but Lara Whitaker replied with her trademark three. Awesome steals by Christie Rourke and Lydia Stapely followed and Amazons opened up their lead again.

The quarter finished with a three-pointer from Rourke and Amazons led at half time by 44-23.

The third quarter started with baskets being traded fairly equally, although Amazons still had the upper hand and gradually increased their lead. This was helped by lovely outside shooting from Tooley and strong under the basket work by Zsofia Vitanyi.

The score at the end of this quarter was 63-35.

The fourth quarter stated fairly evenly, although Amazons were working on extending their lead. The tempo increased as Cougars tried to finish strongly and get something out of the game.

Amazons countered this and the game finished 81-43.
