BEEDING TO AVOID THE DROP?

JUST when it seemed as though Upper Beeding's stay in the County League was coming to an end, they have been given a reprieve. Early this week, they were asked by the County League to reapply after one of the clubs due to be promoted failed to meet the ground criteria.

Beeding had been given confirmation of their relegation down into the West Sussex League. Assistant manager Steve Gretton said: "It's a big bonus and we're all over the moon."
