Benn's century joy is ruined by defeat

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club suffered their first reverse of the season on Saturday despite posting a daunting target for second-bottom Worthing.

Results went for them, however, and they remain second in the table.

After being put into bat, Littlehampton made Worthing regret their decision. After Chris Heberlein and Siya Sibiya were out, captain Benn Challen joined opening batsman Geoff Cole.

Challen fell for 114 with the score on 221. Matt Keen was then out for a golden duck but Cole and Justin Scott saw Littlehampton to a total of 247-4 '” declaring five overs early. Cole finished unbeaten on 80 with 11 fours and two sixes in his 130-ball innings.
