Bexhill T20 Cup test for cricketersat Saffrons
Eastbourne will look to put the disappointment of last season's relegation from the Sussex Premier behind them as they open their season with a T20 Cup clash against local rivals Bexhill at the Saffrons tomorrow (Saturday, 3.30pm).
Skipper Tomsett said, “We have high hopes for the season. Promotion is our main aim and going up as champions would be the icing on the cake. It’s a tough league so we will have to play out best cricket at all times. There’s a few new faces around the club so the vibe is good at the moment.” Of the T20 match against Bexhill Tomsett added, “It’s always good to go into battle with a local team early season. It should be a very competitive match with both teams obviously looking to progress onto the next round. The T20 competition is one we hope to do very well in.”
They begin their division two league season against Lindfield at the Saffrons on Saturday, May 7. Eastbourne will be sponsored by IEP Financial for the 2016 season.
