The sprint distance is made up of a 750m lake swim, 20km road bike which leaves Ashburnham Place and goes up through Netherfield before turning left and heading back down the country lanes (South Lane and Herrings Road), and a 5km run in Ashburnham Place.

There is also a standard distance triathlon (1500m/40km/10km) and a middle distance triathlon (1900m/80km/20km) on offer to test competitors.

Around 300 athletes of all ages and abilities will test themselves on the beautiful but testing course throughout the day.

Race director Paul Holdaway said: “We have all ages from 16-years-old up to 70+ race our triathlons and also all abilities from complete beginners to seasoned athletes.

“Myself and all the people who assist on race day are athletes ourselves so we love the sport. I am looking forward to seeing everyone on race day.”

The athletes will start from 8am on Sunday and racing will go on all day until 5pm. There are still places available for any last minute entries and all the race details can be found at www.sussextriathlon.co.uk including the bike course.

There are no road closures or disruptions to any residents, but drivers are asked to be aware and cautious around the Ashburnham and Netherfield area on Sunday morning. Signage and marshals will be on the course for awareness.
