Bognor ladies savour the salver after thrilling finale

The finals of division-one matches were held at Mannings Heath Golf Club - and Bognor faced High Woods to decide the outright winners.

The Bognor team of Heather Tidy, June Salt, Janet Carter, Sian Southerton, Gill Harris, Suzanne Taylor and Chloe Court put up a good fight and it went to the last putt on the last hole of seven matches, but the title went to the opposition.

Spectators felt privileged to watch spectacular golf, played in the best spirit.

The team proudly brought home a salver, knowing the 252 hours of golf played between them was not in vain.

It capped a successful period for Bognor ladies.

As reported in the Observer, a team of six reached the final four of the Morris Fours, while the ladies' championship was won by Suzanne Taylor, with Heather Tidy, Chloe Court and Sian Southerton the other semi-finalists.
