Bowler Godfrey is all the way through

ADUR indoor bowler John Godfrey is in the National Finals of the English Champion of Champions Singles. He moved into the last eight with three wins at Bromley in the area finals and booked his berth for March 18 at the Warners club on Hayling Island.

Godfrey's first opponent at Bromley was a familiar one from the Worthing area '” Clunky Clarke of Pavilion, who bowls outdoors for Tarring Priory. Godfrey beat him 21-14, then went on to an even bigger win. He knocked out Steve Jeapes, the Hastings county player of the Falaise club, 21-13.

Fired by this, Godfrey repeated the scoreline at the expense of Tunbridge Wells hopeful, Duncan Hanmore.
