FITTLEWORTH

Fittleworth 66 West Chiltington 41

This was a very good start to the new short-mat season for West Chiltington.

Scores: Murial Cook, Marc Wood, Nancy Goodyer, David Herbert won 25-20; Angela Reader, Edna Henly, Sheila Allen, Gina Barnfield won 22-9; Jean Lucking, Alvar Hetherington, Roger Lucking, Sue Judd won 19-12.

Fittleworth’s first game in a new League at Ardingly resulted in a loss on both mats and a 56-29 defeat, with the home side taking all six points.

Scores: Roger Lucking, Edna Hendy, Gina Barnfield, Dave Herbert lost 23-19; Jean Lucking, Alan Jordan, Sue Judd, Charlie Martin lost 33-10.

Fittleworth had a good friendly against Hunston, winning on two mats to take the game 53-51.

Scores: Lynn White, Tony Broughton, Marc Wood, Charlie Martin won 18-11; Roger Lucking, Alvar Hetherington, Gina Barnfield, Sue Judd lost 20-12; Jean Lucking, Peter Martin, Alan Jordan, David Herbert won 23-20.

DONNINGTON

Donnington entertained Crablands and did better than the previous week. They won on one mat and drew on the other.

Scores: Rob Stone, Innes Taylor, Alan Banham and Maggie Maggs beat Iris Brown, Joan Homewood; Geoff Brown and Lil Tuck 19-17; Joan Jones, Wendy Dean, Terry Taws & John Roberts drew 20-20 with Jan Obermayer, Meg Pocock, Joan Taylor & Jim Saunders.

CRABLANDS

Crablands Auks played Nyetimber in their first league game, but lost on all three rinks by a total of 45 Shots.

Scores: Nick Attfield, Chris Lewenden, Rod Shambrook & Les Jewiss lost 22-11; Sylvia Gray, Colin Garland, Lou Lewenden & Ron Osborn lost 29-13; Anne Threlkeld, Pat Osborn, Charlie Threlkeld & Jim Saunders lost 27-9.
