Crawley in mourning after death of boxing legend Minter
British boxing legend Alan Minter - one of Crawley's most famous sons - has died at the age of 69.
The 1972 Olympic bronze medallist turned pro and became world middleweight champion in 1980. Before that Minter had won British and European titles.
The world title came after his Las Vegas debut and a disputed points win over Vito Antuofermo led to a rematch. That ended when Minter forced his opponent to retire.
Minter was later beaten at Wembley Arena by Marvin Hagler. The man known as 'Boom Boom' Minter called a halt to his career in 1981 with a 39-9 record.
He died of cancer on Wednesday.
