Duo contest Europe’s largest boxing event


Ash Mountain and Ian Fletcher are competing at an event hosted by Haringey Police & Community Boxing Club. Progression from the quarter-finals today (Thursday) will see both men compete in the last four tomorrow before a potential final on Sunday at Alexandra Palace, London.
The Haringey Box Cup is now in its sixth year, and Fletcher will be boxing in the 81kg under-10 bouts category, while Mountain is in the 91kg under-10 bouts division. Mountain currently boasts an unblemished record with two wins from his two fights so far.

Hide Ad“Both lads are great boxers with real potential of winning the whole competition,” club coach Terry Freeman said. “They’ve trained extremely hard for this and all the Bexhill ABC coaches are very proud of them.”
Over 300 boxers are expected at the Haringey Box Cup from all over the UK, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland and Ireland. It is open to male and female boxers aged 17 upwards from novice level to top internationals.
