He said: “The performance was good and the fight went well. I had to get through it with no cuts or injuries. I didn’t take any risks and to be fair I could have put him out there but I wanted to get the rounds in.

“I knew I was comfortable and after the first round I knew how the fight was going to go but it was good to get the rounds in.”

Jenman cruised to victory and picked up a unanimous points decision (40-36) and now finds himself ranked 12th in the middleweight division within the UK .

After the bout, Jenman announced he will be fighting for the vacant IBO Continental middleweight title against Andrew Robinson on March 24 at the Genting Arena, in Birmingham.

The bout will be the co main-event as Frankie Gavin challenges for the IBO welterweight championship against Bethuel Ushona.

Jenman described the challenge as a ‘dream come true’ and said: “I said when I turned pro six years ago I set a limit to box for the Southern Area Title so to even box for a title like this is a dream come true. My manager Jon Pegg messaged me a week before my fight and said there is something lined up but you can’t announce it because obviously I would be thinking about that when I needed to concentrate fully on the fight I had in front of me.”

Robinson is a former English middleweight title challenger and Jenman said: “He’s very tough, he’s been in with Lee Marcom, Frank Bugloni and he’s gone the distance with them so that shows he’s durable.

“It’s a winnable fight, he’s been beaten three times and in my eyes it’s a 50/50 kind of fight.”
