Third baseman David Morris set the tone by slogging a home run to left field with the game’s first swing of the bat, and the hit parade that followed was a great confidence booster for Falcons debutants Zoe Morris and Donna Mounce.
Stefan Panayotopoulos continued the onslaught, getting six of six on the day with two singles and four doubles and careful consistent base running. Ally Warr was her usual noisy self at bat, with four hits and a walk, while Peter Martin hit two monster home runs in the fourth and sixth to put the game beyond the Brewers’ reach.

Indeed Mercer invoked the play of the game – this one going against the Falcons – line-driving straight back to the Brewers’ pitcher Stefan Rudeforth, who executed a remarkable catch from that close range.
Donna Mounce and Zoe Morris found their feet after a few innings, both hitting and scoring four runs between them.
Louise Rowe and Carrie Suhr shared catcher duties capably, notably with Rowe snagging a rare force-out at home plate to end the game 30-11 to the Falcons.
