Bruce is on Olympic trail

A PRESTIGIOUS double at the Horse of the Year show put Slindon rider Bruce Menzies and Sultan V firmly in the limelight at this month's event in Birmingham, giving Bruce the biggest wins of his show jumping career.

The duo won both the coveted Foxhunter and Grade C Final at Hoys, rewarding years of patience- and Bruce has his sights set firmly on the 2012 Olympics.

"Sultan is good enough for the Olympics. He would be ten then, the optimum age, and would have the right level of experience," said Bruce (35).

Bruce added: "I have had Sultan, now seven, since he was broken and this is his fourth year in competitions. I've brought him on slowly and carefully. He is owned by my sponsors, Old Lodge Stud of Ashdown Forest. He's a big Dutch warmblood horse and is well over 17hh."
